If you love eBikes or bikes and love riding in Madison, then this is the perfect job for you! We hire guides who are outgoing, friendly, and can provide an authentic, enjoyable customer experience. Guides must be able to safely lead our guests throughout the busy streets of Madison, while providing an entertaining and informative tour of everything that makes Madison great. 

 

What You’ll Do

A guide’s primary responsibility is leading tours on a structured route. You will provide an inclusive, positive, and safe environment for all guests. Additional duties include basic bike maintenance (with on the job training), tour set up, and clean up.

 

Job Responsibilities

Guide Tours

• Lead groups of riders on organized eBike tours, ensuring the safety of all participants at all times.

• Keep the group together and on schedule, making sure to stick to one of the predetermined routes.

• Provide entertaining and informative commentary about landmarks and points of interest along the route.

• Ensure that all riders understand and follow safety guidelines and regulations.

• Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during the tour in a calm and professional manner.

 

Customer Service

• Check guests in and welcome them in a friendly manner.

• Provide clear instructions and training for the eBikes and the tour route.

• Respond to any questions or concerns from riders.

• Handle any customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.

• Create a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for guests.

 

Bike Maintenance

• Maintain the eBikes and equipment, performing basic repairs and troubleshooting as needed.

• Fix minor issues that arise on the tour.

 

Additional Job Details

This role is a flexible, seasonal, and part time job that is great for those looking for supplemental or intermittent work. Tours run twice daily from April to early November. Each daily shift is roughly six hours in length, but half day shifts may be considered. Tours run for approximately 2 hours, with guide narrated stops at Madison landmarks. Tours will run regardless of weather unless there are safety concerns. Because this is a new business, we cannot guarantee that scheduled tours will have riders at this time. We hope you will be a key part of growing this business and attracting guests to fill every tour!

Job Requirements

• Over the age of 18

• Familiarity with Madison

• Ability to ride a bike up to 10 miles

• Comfortable fixing flat tires/basic maintenance (training provided)

• A minimum of 2 rides per week commitment 

• Legally authorized to work in the US

• Fluent in English

 

Previous tour guide experience, customer service roles, bike mechanic experience, and multilingual candidates are a plus!
